Until 1998, the main shopping street in Goole,
Boothferry Road, was a busy thoroughfare carrying much of the towns
visiting traffic. A programme of pedestrianisation diverted all the
traffic around the the centre of town and created a much improved
atmosphere for visitors to browse the shops. This has also helped
attract many new businesses to the town. The old railway station has
been demolished and a new one constructed (watch this space for
pictures)
The Clock
Tower and Goole market Hall.
Full market days
in Goole are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The Victorian hall is
also open Thursdays.
